Reboot your work wardrobe – Kiwi Living

When the budget won’t stretch to a whole new work wardrobe try a mini reboot instead. You’ll be amazed at just how many outfits you can create with a few new pieces.

1. A black pant with detail

Revamp the humble black pant. Look for things like ankle zips, a cuffed hem, a sateen trim or embossed fabric. This will add a touch of personality and edge while also being easy to wear and combine.

2. The embellished heel

A black pair of shoes is a ‘no-brainer’ but an embellished pair is a little more unexpected. While a bold colour can be a bit hard to wear every day a not-so-subtle detail is a lot more wearable and can really ‘make’ an outfit.

3. The print dress

The versatility of a print dress means you can soften it with a plain top and blazer to mimic a skirt or you can wear it on its own with knee high boots, ankle booties or heels.

TIP: A shirt-dress style offers even more versatility to wear open, over pants, or as a dress.

4. The crossover blouse

The relaxed style of this shirt makes it easy to wear and the crossover detail allows you to go bold underneath with a striped singlet or sequined cami. The deep V neckline also means you can showcase an amazing necklace or skinny tie neck scarf.

5. The tailored jacket

A tailored jacket will always flatter your frame particularly when wearing a tunic or shirt dress. For maximum impact step outside the box with your colour choice.

6. The vest

A longline vest will offer you more versatility if you find coats too hot and they also help to add interest to an otherwise plain look.

7. The tassel-esque necklace

The tassel style of necklace is timeless and goes with everything.  Delicate and minimal this style works well with an open neckline and easily transitions for a night-out.

TIP: Instead of a necklace try a skinny neck-tie.
